About Care

Your growth in counseling does not mean uprooting the issue; but rather exploring, understanding and even accepting the “WHYS” for it.

Exploring your roots allows you to understand yourself in ways that will bring confidence, direction & purpose.

My commitment to you is to provide a safe enough space to foster this type of exploration, so together we can talk and re-experience your story. My soul centered approach focuses on supporting you as a whole person by giving you opportunity to express your inner world in a safe way.

The Process

“Relationship” is the best word to describe the process.

It is through our organic connection that we can begin the work of exploring the WHYS and the roots.

We will come to understand your growth areas by first understanding your own beginning. In talking through your childhood we can learn about your roots and their development.  This will allow us to find better soil, plant seeds, break ground, prune, water and just acknowledge the beauty of who you are.

Focusing on your inner roots; your soul

Hi, I’m Ashley McDaniel

I’m glad you’re here

I am a licensed psychotherapist (LMFT #115550) who is passionate about helping you find hope, healing and safety.

As a Christian and a second-generation Nicaraguense American; I understand the unique perspectives of people of faith and people of color.

I’m passionate about caring for the lonely, shamed, fearful, empty and silenced. This passion was birthed from my own experiences. In gaining the necessary education, experience and skills I have been able to find meaning in my own story and assist others to do the same. I truly believe support & restoration can be experienced in counseling when you are ready to understand your inner roots.

I’m happy to take the journey with you, you ready?

Frequently Asked Questions

[+] Psychotherapist, Therapist, Counselor and Mental Health Therapist. What type of therapist are you?

I am all of the above. These are just different titles therapists can use to identify their work. Due to my particular license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT); I approach treatment from a relational/family systems lens. I identify myself as a psychotherapist, counselor, therapist and mental health therapist.

[+] Do you accept insurance?

No, I do not bill insurance companies directly. However I am happy to provide a SuperBill (every month/free of charge) to individuals desiring to be reimbursed for their services by their insurance. Please inform me if you plan on doing this.

[+] Do you offer a sliding fee?

Yes, I am able to provide a reduced fee known as a sliding scale. However this is dependent upon request, need and availability at the time. Check out my blog on “Why therapy matters” to watch a video about why making this investment in yourself matters.

[+] Do you offer Christian Counseling?

I am a Christian and have the education (BA in Biblical Studies)/experience (11 years in church ministry) in integrating spirituality into therapy, but do not offer a specific service called Christian Counseling. We will naturally have discussions about your values and beliefs. However you do not need to be spiritual or religious to work with me. We will have a discussion on what this looks like for your life in a non-judgmental way.

[+] When do you offer appointments?

I offer appointments in the afternoons/evening hours at this time. This varies on Monday-Friday. I do not offer Saturday or Sunday appointments.

[+] What can I expect in my first session?

The majority of the first session will be an orientation to therapy, paperwork, providing information about your history and reasons for starting therapy now. You can come prepared by spending a few minutes identifying your motivation for therapy and reporting important events in your life.
